AN OUTDOOR SOCIAL GATHERING SPACE WITH ENHANCED LANDSCAPING AND AMENITIES FOR THE TENANTS OF OFFICE BUILDING

J2 developed an outdoor social gathering space with enhanced landscaping and amenities for the tenants of this six-story office building. The project has both fire and water features, a ping pong and activity lawn, detailed with a screen paneling and a custom trellis, settled on a modern paving scheme, and varied landscape forms and spaces.

THE CHALLENGE

Coordinating various design elements and ensuring seamless integration between indoor and outdoor spaces.

THE SOLUTION

Working extensively with the team’s structural engineer, an exterior trellis was designed to match the interior’s drop-down ceiling, and create a seamless indoor-outdoor space and transition. A new “garage” style door into the interior renovations had to be coordinated to ensure proper clearances and functionality. In addition, the structure’s footings and posts had to be designed to fit varying post attachments and heights, to integrate with the proposed fountain feature, seat wall, and paving details.
