The Langley School
STATE-OF-THE-ART SCHOOL DESIGNED FOR THE FUTURE
The new middle school replaces two existing buildings on campus demolished to make way for the 27,000 SF, 3-story structure. The new state-of-the-art private school building includes green components such as a partial green roof and other sustainable elements. J2 provided site and engineering design services for the project.

The Solution
THE SOLUTION
The site’s small footprint required thoughtful staging to allow demolition and construction while maintaining campus operations and limiting impact to existing buildings. Unmarked utilities located throughout the campus required redesign in the field to maintain the project schedule, as did locating new utilities and related infrastructure in the limited land available.
THE CHALLENGE
Key challenges included a tight site footprint; maintaining safety and operations during demolition and build; unmapped utilities; and a limited construction timeline.
