Lorainne Barksdale, PE, CFM

At the urging of a high school friend – and with a desire to contribute to her community – Lorainne parlayed her love of math and science into a career in civil engineering. She’s grateful for the amazing opportunities J2 has given her to grow as a professional and a leader. She values the firm’s culture of putting people first and leading with integrity, which aligns with her own personal philosophy. Lorainne is a hands-on project manager, mentoring new engineers in their own career journeys. She particularly enjoys the chance to experience young engineers in “Eureka” moments early in their careers.

Lorainne’s favorite mantra, “perfection doesn’t exist, but good, quality work is possible with hard work and commitment” is at the core of everything she does. Born in Puerto Rico and raised overseas and on the US East Coast, her love of travel was instilled early. And, although they agree not to talk shop at home, she, and her husband (who is also a transportation engineer) spend free time with their two daughters.
