Advancing Connectivity in Loudoun County: J2 Awarded New Sidewalk and Trail Design Contract

J2 has been selected by Loudoun County for a new public-sector contract to provide Task Order Sidewalk and Trail Design Services on an as-needed basis.

Through this contract, J2 will support Loudoun County’s ongoing efforts to enhance pedestrian and bicycle connectivity, safety, and accessibility as part of its Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The work supports Safe Streets Loudoun and the County’s adopted Vision Zero initiative, which aims to reduce serious roadway injuries and fatalities by 2040 by addressing missing and unsafe bicycling and pedestrian links.

The scope of services includes the design of new sidewalks and shared-use trails, gap infill connections, curb ramp improvements, signage and striping enhancements, and other multimodal transportation improvements that strengthen the County’s transportation network and improve access for users of all ages and abilities.

The contract allows Loudoun County to issue individual task orders for projects throughout the County, providing flexibility and responsiveness to evolving transportation needs. J2’s multidisciplinary team will provide professional engineering, surveying, and design support through all phases of project development, from planning and analysis through final design and construction support, while coordinating closely with County staff and stakeholders.
